Monday August 17th and Tuesday August 18th at the Rome Corners Intermediate School, 1111 S. Perry Parkway, Oregon, WI.  Both nights we will begin at 6:00 pm.  You need only attend one night or the other.  Please sign up in advance so that we know how many people to expect each night.  Please fill out the forms available on our website. Check the website and your email 1 week before auditions to see the choreography for the audition. You will be taught the choreography at auditions, but it is recommended that you review it before arriving too.  Callbacks will be on Thursday August 20th at 6:00 pm at RCI. 

Performers of any age are welcome to audition. We need actors, dancers, singers, and improvisors for this production.

Please be prepared to sing an excerpt from a song of your choosing which best demonstrates your abilities.  Your excerpt should be 30 seconds- 1 minute in length.  You may choose any song except from Disney’s Descendants The Musical (this production) or from the first 3 Disney’s Descendants movies. Do not sing a song that the character you are going for actually sings in the show or movie. 

We will provide a keyboard accompanist on the Monday Audition Only and a bluetooth speaker for both days so please have either sheet music or a recording on a bluetooth capable device ready. 

If you choose sheet music, you must attend auditions Monday August 17. The beginning and end of your section must be clearly marked and the sheet music must sit manageably on the music stand so our accompanist doesn’t have to struggle with turning pages or loose sheets falling off the stand. 

If you choose to sing with a recording, you will have a minute to connect to the speaker, adjust the volume, and find the right starting spot in your track. The recording can not include a vocal guide track, it must be instrumental accompaniment, a karaoke style recording or similar. 

No one may sing acapella, without accompaniment, for their audition. 

The choreographer will work with groups of 6-8 people and teach you a short dance combination. A video of this combination will be available starting 1 week before auditions.  Please wear comfortable clothes and footwear, like athletic shoes, ballet flats, etc.  No need to wear specialized dance shoes. 

You will be asked to participate in some improv games and exercises, and you may be asked to read a scene from the script.

You must bring either sheet music of a recording to sing with. No one may sing acapella, without accompaniment, for their audition.

On Tuesday August 18th, we will only provide a bluetooth speaker. There will not an accompanist available. Please email stagemanager@oshponline.org if that is not possible for you.

Callbacks are a second round of auditions we ask specific auditioners to attend so we can see more from them. There are lots of reasons someone may or may not be asked to attend callbacks. Some people will be cast without attending callbacks, and some people who do attend callbacks will not be cast. 

For this production, if you are invited to callbacks, you will be emailed Tuesday night or Wednesday morning and told what role or roles you are being called back for. The email will also include sections from a scene or song from the show to prepare. Additionally, at the beginning of callbacks we will go over the sections with everyone called for that role before anyone performs it. 

We understand that some conflicts are unavoidable, such as for college students who are out of town.  Please e-mail stagemanager@oshponline.org directly and explain your situation.  We will accept a video of your singing audition.

If you are available for the audition date and not for callbacks, please let us know when you register for auditions. 

The first rehearsal will be on Sunday August 30th from 3:00-6:00 pm at RCI.  We will typically rehearse Sunday afternoons from 3:00-6:00 pm, and Monday through Wednesday evenings from 6:00-8:00 pm.  Depending on your role you will not be called to every rehearsal.  On Saturdays we will have optional “work days”; you will receive more information about this at the first rehearsal.  Before you audition you will be asked to give us a complete list of your conflicts; we will do our best to accommodate your schedule.  Please note that your availability will have an impact on casting decisions.
