Join us for the secon day of auditions for our Summer Show, Damn Yankees.
When and where are the auditions for Damn Yankees?
Monday April 27 and Tuesday April 28 at the Oregon High School Performing Arts Center, 456 North Perry Parkway. Both nights we will begin at 6:30 pm. You need only attend one night or the other. Please sign up in advance so that we know how many people to expect each night. Once you sign up for a specific date, the stage manager will e-mail you further information. Callbacks will be on Thursday April 30 at 6:30 pm at the Oregon Middle School.
Who can audition for the show?
All performers age 14 and up are welcome to audition.
What should I prepare for the audition?
Please be prepared to sing an excerpt from a song of your choosing which best demonstrates your abilities. Your excerpt should be about one minute in length. We will provide an accompanist so please have the sheet music ready and clearly marked.
The choreographer will work with groups of 6-8 people and teach you a short dance combination. Please wear comfortable clothes and footwear, like athletic shoes, ballet flats, etc. No need to wear specialized dance shoes.
You may be asked to read a scene from the script.
What if I’m not available on the audition dates?
We understand that some conflicts are unavoidable, such as for college students who are out of town. Please e-mail stagemanager@oshponline.org directly and explain your situation. We will accept a video of your singing audition.
What will the rehearsal schedule be like?
The first rehearsal will be on Monday June 8th at 6:30 pm. We will typically rehearse Sunday through Thursday evenings from 6:30-9:30 pm, some weeks 4 rehearsals, some weeks we will have 5. Depending on your role you will not be called to every rehearsal. On Saturdays we will have “work days”; you will receive more information about this at the first rehearsal. Before you audition you will be asked to give us a complete list of your conflicts; we will do our best to accommodate your schedule. Please note that your availability will have an impact on casting decisions.
